Empire - The Nonhuman Threat

The Nonhuman Threat:

Most of the Empire’s borders have stabilized but there are still a few places of conflict remaining (though this conflict is mainly limited to bitching between the ambassadors of the three main powers). The lack of wars, and thus conquering, has led the Ephesian government to try to find something else to keep their populous occupied. So, they began targeting the minority populations of “nonhumans” that drifted on the edges of their society. This campaign (blaming these individuals for any and all social ills) started a crusade aimed at eliminating them.
For this purpose, Hunter divisions were formed in all major cities (with outposts between them). The Hunters are holy soldiers trained to find, capture and (if necessary) eliminate nonhumans. For the most part, nonhumans are captured and put into holding cells while their status is reviewed. If they are deemed not to be a threat, then they are branded, sterilized and released. These brands, however, pretty much make it impossible for them to get a job or shop at any store that inspects for marks (most do). So, nonhumans are generally shuffled into a life of crime and poverty, which leads to them being arrested repeatedly and then (likely) executed. They’re also executed immediately if they try to escape Hunter custody or are deemed to be a threat after capture.
It’s all pretty awesome and happy for them, basically.
By this point, the Hunter divisions in most major cities have taken over several other duties. The Hunters in these areas often act more like police officers than holy crusaders, arresting and detaining human criminals as well as nonhumans. In addition, nuns, living in cloisters attached to the headquarters, serve as secretaries and cleaning/kitchen staff, while the more literate operate the archives for each city. The current Capitol (a title given to the city in which the Emperor resides in at that time) boasts one of the largest divisions with six individual squads of 6 to 8 Hunters (plus a bunch of rookies that haven’t been assigned to squads and serve mainly as backup/ground troops).
Honestly, though, the Hunter divisions and their attached cloisters have started serving as hiding places for less desirable citizens. The cloisters take the illegitimate daughters of the aristocracy and clergy, girls that have had embarrassing pregnancies or abortions, and former prostitutes.  The Hunters themselves adopt illegitimate sons, soldiers that can’t take orders, orphans, the poor and (rarer lately) religious zealots. Generally, this practice is not something people talk about and Hunters are still viewed as Holy Warriors.

So, what is “the nonhuman threat” exactly? Well they’re pretty much werewolves, wolfmen, etc. Basically, they’re individuals that are affected by something (this something is up to debate) that makes them turn into a wolf during the full moon and, in most cases, eat people. Yeah, it kinda causes problems. Some people think that werewolves are the result of demonic possession; some think they’re infected with a virus/parasite. No one’s really sure and if you ask the church, they’re demon servants of Lucifer that need to be destroyed at all costs. As evidence, the church often cites their allergy to silver, a holy metal in Ephesia.

Act IV

Okay, this one is a little shorter because not a lot happens but... a lot happens. You'll see.

Act IV
Group leaves to search for supplies (are probably running out of food, etc)
            The group splits up
One group inside, one group keeping watch
First follows Raph, Azzer and Will looking through the Walgreens/ CVS/
            pharmacy thing
Raph needs more meds (to not be quite so crazy) and is looking for
                        them
Azzer and Will are probably looking around for food, water,
batteries, first aid things... anything useful
Then goes to Lou, Xi and Ophelia keeping watch outside
Xi is probably being an ass and derping around and not liking this
                        guard duty thing
While Lou is trying to keep him from running off
Ophelia is distracted and paying more attention to the two of them
                        than anything else
Movement in the background of the scene
Possible cut to other group of survivors venturing through the city
They see Xi and Lou “arguing” and Ophelia lurking off on the
                        sidelines
                        Edge closer to investigate
A group of zombies shows up and spooks the group
                        Causing them to open fire
Ophelia shot by other survivors (in the shoulder)
                        She falls to the ground
Lou and Xi chase off the other group/the zombies
They see Ophelia bleeding out on the ground
Lou leaves her with Xi to get Raph and the others
Xi – “Might as well make you useful for something other than
                        screaming all the time”
He grabs a zombie’s arm and drags it over to her
Lets blood drip into her eye to see if that makes her change
He keeps talking into his tape recorder and observing things
Raph and the others show up
                        Raph knocks Xi out
Shows one of them drawing a gun and pointing it at Ophelia
                        Noise of gunshot
                        Cut to black

Empire Religion -Expanded

God
            The Burning God.
He created the world and all the people in it from His Holy Fire, according to Ephesian-Catholicism. Also known as the Lord, “I AM” and various other deity-related names. Holy epiphanies and enlightenments are described as being “touched with fire” or “burning with ideas.”
Some groups depict Him as a two-sided deity. He is seen as childish and innocent but also ancient and wrathful. These sects often draw Him as a child swathed in white cloth. However, this is not a popular view and most churches use the “Old man with a beard” pictures.

Gabriel
            The Messenger.
Gabriel is the oldest and first among the messengers and serves as the left hand of God. He is the Divine Herald and will be the Trumpeter of the last Judgment when the Holy Fire consumes the earth and burns away the unworthy. He is generally called upon for mercy and truth due to his position as the left hand and is connected to the West.
Gabriel defeated Lucifer after his rebellion by stabbing him through the heart and casting him from Heaven. Thus, he is also associated with vengeance. Gabriel is often shown as a man with dark hair that comes to carry the souls of Popes and Emperors to Heaven.

Metatron
            The Voice.
Enoch was a mortal man that was brought to Heaven where he became a messenger and took the role of Voice of God. This is necessary as His voice is painful for mortals to hear and may even lead to their deaths. Before his ascension, Enoch wrote some of the holy documents now used by the church.
He is often seen as disagreeing with Raphael and Michael while supporting Gabriel and Uriel. He serves as the celestial scribe and is associated with writing, knowledge and education. He is sometimes shown as a man holding a tablet and stylus.

Raguel
            The Judge.
Often shown as a dark, blank-faced figure, Raguel is the judge of both messengers and mortals. He is the embodiment of justice, order and harmony. His purpose is to solve conflict and he is often called upon when one needs help deciding what is fair and just.
He is also responsible for punishing the unjust and rewarding the pure. He is not affected by emotional pleas or begging and so is sometimes seen as a being ruled by logic and free of emotions. Free will is said to have been Raguel’s gift to mankind, allowing them to make their own judgments.

Michael
            The Soldier.
Michael is the patron of warriors and protector of the weak and ill. He serves as general of Heaven’s armies and fights against his twin, Lucifer. He is the embodiment of strength, courage and power and performed the first act of chivalry. He represents the South point of the compass and is said to favor self-sacrifice.
It is common to call upon Michael when one is feeling weak or needs the courage to make the right decision. Generally, he is pictured as a pure and loyal young soldier in dressed armor and guards the chastity of virgins.

Raphael
            The Healer.
Mediator and peacekeeper, Raphael walks the thin line between Heaven and Hell and keeps all things in balance. He is the regent of the Sun and the East, angel of love and compassion and patron of physicians; the blind (and those with other eye problems), the sick, the insane and the injured; guardian angels; happy meetings and lovers; nightmares; travelers; and young people. He is considered a protector of mankind and binder of evil and is often depicted as a young man in blue with blonde hair.

Uriel
            The Artist.
Uriel created art and music and gifted them to mankind before her fall. She is the sister of Raphael and is often viewed as both opposing and aiding him. She shares regency of the Sun with him and the two are often viewed as consorts to each other with their union serving to gift mankind with technology and innovation. Though, Uriel is generally seen as being responsible for the flaws in inventions that Raphael endlessly struggles to solve. She is the angel of prophecy and retribution and the North to Raphael’s East. She is often depicted as a young blonde woman wearing a long white dress.

Lucifer
The Tempter (Also: The Light-Bringer, The Dark One, etc).
The creator of sin and tempter of mankind, Lucifer works to bring the souls of men into darkness and ignorance. He is the twin brother and direct opposite of Michael and was once one of the highest of the messengers before Pride and darkness consumed him. Lucifer has many forms and actively tries to seduce people away from the light of the Holy Fire by creating his own false light. Often, Lucifer will take the form of young children and women when he is tempting but will always be shown for what he is by the scar on his chest where Gabriel’s sword pierced his heart.

The Empire - Government and Religion

Holy Ephesian Empire
Usually called “The Empire” or “Ephesia”

The Government:

Theocratic Consulate
The empire has two rulers, the Pope who rules from Rome and the Holy Emperor who rules from Capitol. Under these two is a hierarchy of clergy and aristocracy that enact their decisions.

The Pope
The Pope is a man chosen by God and groomed from birth for his position. There are usually two or three “understudies” for the position because you never know when someone is going to get sick, die, screw a hooker or otherwise become unfit for the position.
He’s assisted by a counsel of cardinals (the men, not the birds) who serve as his advisors and most trusted servants (at least until one of them tries to assassinate him, it’s happened). They also act as messengers, informing the public of the Pope’s decisions because talking to the masses would dilute his holy aura and make him unable to commune with God. The Pope is expected to remain pure and untainted by women, because this would also dilute his holy aura because sex is wrong and bad and girls are icky and full of cooties/demons/sin.

The Holy Emperor
A man is chosen from the holy Brandt bloodline whenever the old emperor dies. Usually, the man selected is between 13 and 50 and sometimes the man is actually a girl. This tends to happen when there aren’t any suitable male candidates to take over. Legally, the girl is considered a man and is referred to as such because well see the argument above with girls being icky and full of sin. You can usually tell that a girl has been crowned because as soon as she reproduces and the kid reaches 13, she’s forced to “retire” or dies in a mysterious and unavoidable accident.
No one ever said this was a nice country.
Mostly, the actual ruling is left up to the aristocracy and clergy that surround the emperor constantly like a big bloated cloud of really bitchy mosquitoes that tell him what to do and influence policy to suit their own vapid and ever changing needs.

The Religion:

Ephesian Catholicism is the only accepted religion in the Empire. All other religions were outlawed about 70 years ago and they aren’t exactly the type to accept people practicing heresy. (Unless you consider burning heretics as being accepting)
Their actual religion is based around a combination of the Holy Bible from Catholicism and the teachings of a man named Ephesian. He taught of a Burning God whose Holy Fire brings enlightenment and burns away sins to purify humanity. His Fire moves in the form of messengers that bring harmony and peace through discord and war. The Pope is considered to be a vessel of Holy Fire and is chosen first by the “burning” of the mother (aka a single mother who has a certain pattern of symptoms and dies giving birth to the child) and then with a trial by fire. He is always surrounded by candles and is often wreathed in smoke (yay lung cancer). The Holy Brandt bloodline was touched by the messengers of the Burning God and carries the divinity of these messengers in their veins. It is said that these messengers occasionally visit Holy Emperors to give them guidance and reinforce the divinity of the bloodline (this excuse is often used when unwed women in the Emperor’s family randomly get pregnant).

Character Profiles

Character profiles for Raph, Will and Ophelia.

Name: Raphael Martin
Age: 36
Alignment: Neutral Good
Class of Choice: Battle Cleric
Nationality: Canadian-American (immigrated when he was 10)

Appearance: Tall (6’6), blonde, built like a barn and missing an eye. Let’s just say he sticks out in a crowd.

Personality: A depressed, (formerly) suicidal masochist, Raph has a bit of a hero complex. He’s the type to help little old ladies cross the street by pushing them out of the way of oncoming traffic. And then get hit himself. He’d likely laugh off the concussion and broken bones while Azzer facepalmed.
He was probably the tall nerdy nice guy that you laughed at in high school.

Skills: An ER doctor with military experience, he’s a good person to have on hand in case of injury, illness, or a need to reach the box of cookies on the top shelf.

Likes: Rachel, Azzer, honey, fruit, tattoos, Star Trek, Firefly and helping people

Dislikes: Meat, people that hit on him, running out of his pills, anger, his pills, and alcohol (he’s a bit of a lightweight despite his size)

Name: William Morgan
Age: 25
Drink: Gin, straight, no ice
Preferred Weapons: Rifle, revolver, or baseball bat to the face
Arrest Record: Yes

Appearance: Pale and handsome, Will’s a smooth talking devil hiding behind a priest’s collar.

Personality: Will’s a natural born charmer who seems to have conveniently forgotten about his vow of celibacy. Despite his wandering ways, he’s a fiercely loyal individual. God help you if you touch his friends or family because this guy believes in smiting the wicked on a rather personal level.

Skills: Before becoming a man of the cloth, Will lived in a rather rough neighborhood with a mother that worked as a prostitute. As a priest, he now serves one of the darker areas of the city. He can lie, cheat and brawl with the best (or worst) of them and knows how to escape a tight spot.

Likes: Women, gin, his brothers, Lou’s bar, and target practice

Dislikes: Doctors telling him to sober up, nuns that hit him and people who break into his church

Name: Ophelia Woods
Age: 19
Sign: Virgo
Major: Women’s Studies
College: BU

Appearance: Filia is a slim brunette that doesn’t seem that well suited to this whole “end of the world” thing.

Personality: More focused on reading and getting good grades, Ophelia has never had a real boyfriend before. Now that her world seems to be over, she’s apparently trying to rectify that.

Skills: Knowing the basics of first aid and CPR, Ophelia could act as a decent nurse to Raph’s doctor should the situation arise. Additionally, her knowledge of cooking, sewing and basic survival techniques makes her good support for the guys on her team.

Likes: Cute guys, reading, not being chased by things, Iron Chef and getting good grades

Dislikes: Bugs, things chasing and attacking her, guns, and not being able to shower

Act III

Round three of these random posts of summary-things

Act III
The group finally unties Raph the next morning
For which I’m sure he’s very thankful
Ophelia keeps making mooneyes at him and that leads to
something like “I hope you realize that the last time I had sex, you
were probably in elementary school” which makes Azzer cackle
They head off to look for safer ground/find a way out
Little conversation about zombie hearing and how gunfire seems to attract
            them
W – staring at gun – You know…. All we really need are potatoes
                        L - ….potatoes?
W – Yeah, I mean… these things are attracted to sound, right?
You just take a potato and – gestures- pff, silencer
A - …or we could just find a gun shop and get… silencers.
W – little almost pout – Or that.
Decide to look around for a place to get silencers
While wandering around, they start to see a good number of dead zombies
And then they run into Xi
Sitting on a car eating Ramen and surrounded by corpses
Is probably very “What? I was hungry”
Somehow they manage to convince Xi to come with them
Maybe they use food or bribe him with the fact that they have guns
                        or something
Who knows, maybe zombies show up and they need to fight them
off together and then head off for safety
They wind up inside a building to rest
            Pokéwalker scene
Xi lifts up edge of shirt and has a Pokéwalker attached to his pants
Others basically all “…. *your not srs*”
Xi being very “At least being chased by zombies is good for
                        something this way”
Discussion of what the zombies are after they see fast/smart zombies
R – I…I think I know what this is. Look, if this is a variation of
                        rabies, this makes sense
X – What makes you think it’s rabies in the first fucking place?
R – There – pauses – A patient came into the ER with bite marks
and lacerations. We thought he’d been mauled by a dog and we
were planning to start treatment for rabies. But he went…berserk.
                        Attacked orderlies.
L – That explains the guy that came into my bar. Said he worked at
the hospital and that some crazy shit was going down over there.
He ordered a drink before he turned into one of these monsters
R – nods – We had tried to evacuate the hospital after he started
attacking people. It… didn’t work very well.
X – little snort – Yeaaah, I kinda gathered that from the fact that
you cockfags left me unconscious and hooked up to an IV
R – looks away and clears throat – In any case… if a dog attacked
him and gave rabies then it would explain the two different forms
                        this has taken
                        X – Oh… you think it’s evolving.
R – nods – In a normal case of rabies, death occurs within a few
days. Usually due to respiratory insufficiency. As we’ve seen, this
is not the case with our bitey friends outside. But…that
would make sense if this were a new stain, better designed for
survival. Viruses evolve all the time.
W – So… what, this is some sort of mutant rabies or something?
X – Emobitch actually has a point with that. If this was the
government (and I still say it was, there’s no way that quarantine
would have gone up or power would have gone out that
quickly) then this could be some weaponized form of rabies.
R – While I’m hesitant to accept that the government did this that is
beside the point. What I’m saying is if this is rabies then having
two types makes sense to make the insufficiency sufficient.
            Panel(s) with slow zombies
If the metabolism is slowed, the infected need less oxygen.
However, this also leads to infected which are sluggish and limited
                        in their facilities.
            Panel(s) with fast zombies
The other option is if the disease had less impact on the lungs.
Their metabolisms could be maintained at higher levels.
Unfortunately, this would also lead to an increase in
aggression levels as the infected need more food to fuel their
                        higher levels of activity
            Cut back to group
                        R – It’s just a theory, though.
L – It’s a good theory, doc. Not exactly helpful to us at the
moment, though. But maybe it’ll help when we get out of here.
R – At the very least you should know that if this is the case, the
faster ones will be smarter and more able to defend themselves.
A – Of course they are. Why would anything ever be easy for us?
O – So… so these things can they learn? Like how to fight back
                        and hunt people?
W – Right, this is definitely what we needed
X – I know right? Now it’ll actually be some fun
Group just kinda staring at Xi
                        X - ….what?

Random Character Taggy Thing

I stole this tag from DA and decided to do this for the characters from a zombie comic that I’m working on with Andmaybeasoda

RULES:
- Choose ten of your OCs.
- Answer the questions.
- Tag three people (no).

1. Ophelia
2. Azzer
3. Sam
4. Zombies
5. Blake
6. Raph
7. Fisher
8. Xi
9. Lou
10. Will

1) 3 (Sam), 4 (Zombies), 7 (Fisher), and 9 (Lou) go ice-skating. What happens?
> I think Lou and Sam would gtfo and hope the zombies ate Fisher or something.

2) 5 (Blake) throws a party and invites three people of his choice. Who does he invite and what happens?
> Xi and Sam definitely. Iono. Maybe Raph? He’d probably bring cake and give Blakey presents and hugs. And then Xi would make gay jokes and Sam would hnnngh over the idea of boysex

3) 6 (Raph) catches 2 (Azzer) singing and dancing to something embarrassing. What's 6 (Raph)'s reaction?
> He would probably laugh forever. And then try to stop and then laugh harder until Azzer punched him.

4) 1 (Ophelia) and 10 (Will) are stuck in a closet. How the crap did they get in there?
> Lou probably pushed them in there so Will could get laid. He forgot that his friend has claustrophobia and is more likely to hyperventilate and freak out than have sex. He would, however, be more than happy to get an “oh you poor baby” blowjob after they got out.

5) 4 (Zombies) confesses his(their) love for 8 (Xi). What happens?
> Xi shoots the zombies because their “love” is expressed by them trying to eat him.

6) 3 (Sam) walks in to see 6 (Raph) and 7 (Fisher) making out in 3's (Sam') closet. What's their reaction?
> “Hot damn, boysex”

7) 5 (Blake) and 9 (Lou) have an argument that soon turns into a fistfight. How did it start and how does 2 (Azzer) try to break it up?
> Lou could break Blake like a twig so maybe this “fistfight” is more like them settling something with rock-paper-scissors? Azzer wouldn’t care either way.

8) 6 (Raph) and 7 (Fisher) are getting married, but 8 (Xi) is in love with 7 (Fisher). What is 8 (Xi) going to do?
> Shoot Fisher and Raph. Find out who drugged him. If this is not the result of drugs, he shoots himself. He’ll die a hero’s death.

9) You open your front door to see every one of your OCs bursting into your home. What do you do?
> Oh god, they found me. Hide, run, try not to get eaten by the zombies.

10) 2 (Azzer) admits to you that he killed 9 (Lou). What do you do?
> I’d assume that Lou was hitting on Rachel and make sure that Azzer wasn’t about to shoot me.

11) Everyone gather around the campfire. What stories do they tell and what goes on?
> The zombies and Fisher would have to not be there, be dead. The rest would probably talk about things they missed and Azzer would complain that they’re sitting around and not findinghiswifedammit

12) 4 (Zombies) and 5 (Blake) have a karaoke contest. What happens, and who wins?
> .......Blake. His girly screams win the contest while the zombies try to eat the microphone and mumble incoherently.

13) If you could meet any of your OCs, who would you choose?
> Raph probably. I’d make him bake for me.

14) 2 (Azzer), 3 (Sam), 5 (Blake), 9 (Lou), and 10 (Will) go to the fair for the day. What nonsense do they get into?
> Azzer gets annoyed but winds up buying things for Rachel and his kids. Sam, Blake, Lou and Will actually have fun and ride on rollercoasters and stuff.

15) 1 (Ophelia), 4 (Zombies), and 7 (Fisher) see a rainbow and decide to try and find the leprechaun at the end with his pot of gold. Do they succeed in their mission?
> Oh look, they’re all in heaven. How good for them.

16) 1 (Ophelia) and 2 (Azzer) are stuck on an island. How do they get out? Or do they...?
> Azzer uses her as a raft and rows off the island to get back home.

17) 5 (Blake) discovers 7 (Fisher) drawing caricatures of 5 (Blake) and 1 (Ophelia) kissing. What does 5 (Blake) do?
> Run the fuck away because obviously Fisher is crazy and is shipping him with a girl neither of them have met. Also it’s Fisher and Blake wouldn’t want to be there.

18) 4 (Zombies), 6 (Raph), 8 (Xi), 9 (Lou), and 10 (Will) go to a play. What happens?
> The four boys shoot the zombies and then actually watch and enjoy the play.

19) 1 (Ophelia) and 2 (Azzer) play a prank on 3 (Sam). What do they do?
> ........ No.

20) Everyone is mad at you! What did you do? How will you get them to forgive you?
> I put them in a zombie apocalypse hell and then put them through this tag. Of course they’re angry.

21) Now that this meme is over, what will you all do?
> I’ll eat an apple and write more.

Act II

The second installment in the continuing adventures of me posting random summary-things

Act II
Still “venturing,” Lou, Ophelia and Will hear a commotion
They investigate (peeking around a corner?)
Raph and Azzer are having a “fight”
Mostly about how Raph really really shouldn’t throw himself to
the zombies please it’s been a very long day and can’t he just
stay in one place and calm the fuck down so Azzer can rest
And Raph ranting about how he really doesn’t want to be here
and really, Azzer should understand that he’s going crazy here
and starting to hallucinate and it’s making things difficult and he
just wants it to stop forever so he can sleep forever and he’d be
better off dead and less likely to get people killed
Understandably, this fight probably freaks them out
But hey, Lou has a DID problem and has to go try to help
Azzer + Lou manage to drag Raph off to somewhere not in the open
“Goddamn he must weigh a fuck ton” “Metric or imperial?”
Raph gets handcuffed to something so he won’t run the hell off
Azzer probably gets looks for this and makes snide comments in
                       response
All I can see are lines like “I don’t know if a zombie apocalypse
is the best time for you two to act out your gay BDSM fantasies or
whatever this is” coming from Will
And maybe Ophelia finding the idea of boysex hot, because the
                       girl has her priorities
And Azzer facepalming and raging while Lou laughs
            Will recognizes Raph
Raph then acknowledges Will and Lou as being former patients
Probably some bitching at Will for getting in fights/drinking
                        himself into a stupor
“Ah yes, Mr. Morgan. Lovely to see you without broken bones
                       for once”
            Introductions/Reintroductions
                        Names, jobs, etc.
            Discussion of Rachel
Pregnant with twins and alone with two little kids (a toddler and a
baby) in the middle of fucking nowhere because Azzer is a hermit
and hates everyone except for Rachel, his kids and Raph
            Break
Discussion of the zombies being alive rather than being undead and/or
voodoo slaves (*cough*Our Zombies Are Different*cough*)
                        R – “They’re not dead”
                        L – pauses – “What?”
R – nods to the window – “The people out there, they’re living
                       breathing humans”
                        W – “They’re eating OTHER PEOPLE”
L – “And attacking anything that gets too close, that’s not exactly
                      normal behavior”
R – “Perhaps I should have amended that. They’re sick. Infected
with something… a virus… like rabies… it could even be spread
like HIV, blood to blood. They’re dehydrated, you can see it in
their pallor, the receding gum lines, they likely have bleeding sores
                      in their mouths.”
L – “So those things we’ve been killing are humans, then”
R – “Sick, likely rabid humans, yes”
O -  “How are we supposed to kill them, knowing that?”
A – looks up from whatever he’s been doing (probably busy
being antisocial and grumpy, it takes a lot of work) – “Look, just
pretend they’re Old Yeller and put them down”
                        R – “Az!”
A – “Rabies fries your brain and causes permanent brain damage.
That’s why they put dogs down. If that’s what this is, then there’s
no way to fix them. So just shoot them in the head and keep your
arms and legs out of snapping jaws”

Intros and Act I

Posting my rough bullshit-y plot rambles for zombie comic. What it says on the tin, this post is the intros and the first act.

Intros (Act 0)
            Raph’s
Raph’s at desk, probably looking exhausted
Nurse gives him coffee tells him about patient waiting for him
Patient changes into zombie and ragekills things
They try to evac the hospital
Raph heads back to apartment and Azzer
            Lou’s
Orderly/male nurse walks into his bar
Talks about the crazy shit that went down at the hospital
Lou leaves to talk to Ashy on the phone
When he returns, the guy has changed
Lou thankfully keeps a shotgun behind the bar
            Xi’s
Xi wakes up in a hospital bed, pretty much abandoned behind a
                       locked door
He probably tries to call for a nurse or something, though
knowing him he might just get up
Wanders out of his room and finds zombies
Wonders vaguely if he’s in Silent Hill but realizes he hasn’t
                       smothered his wife
Probably finds this zombie thing pretty cool

Act I
Lou is leading a group of survivors (including Ophelia/the chick)
Lou mentions the church (vaguely) as “somewhere safe”
            Running through city/slums
Almost to church when they get jumped
            Several survivors get mauled/killed/dragged off
Leads to them running and getting cornered
Zombie in front = boom headshot
Pan up to silhouette of man on roof of church w/ rifle
            “Thank god for British bastards”
            Zombies offed
            Survivors run to chuch
            Door is locked
                        W - “What’s the password?”
L - “I come bearing women and booze”
                        W – “There’s a good man” – door opens- “Now quick, everyone
                       inside”
            Break
Lou sits down – “I was worried you hadn’t made it, Will”
            Brief discussion of situation
One of the survivors starts to moan and grip his head, sweating
Will approaches and examines the man, telling the others to move back
He moves the man’s shirt aside to show a bite mark
Will draws a pistol and presses it to the man’s forehead
He fires, several girls scream, most of the survivors seem horrified
W – “Bastard was already dead, he just didn’t know it yet” –
turns to look at the others – “Look, any of you get bitten, don’t
keep it to yourselves, that’s a good way to get everyone killed.
Just do yourself and all of us a favor and give the nearest gun
blowjob, alright?” – walks back over to Lou who is giving him
                       look – “What?”
L – “….we really need to work on your speeches, little buddy” –
                       offers Will a bottle
W – takes a drink – “Any ideas where we’re gonna go? This
church isn’t a fortress and there’s not enough food to support
                       anyone for long”
Discussion of where they’ll go from there
            Break
            Leaving the church
A few of the survivors decide to go off on their own
Will, Lou + Ophelia venture off, looking for shelter (possibly w/ others?)
